SBE PTA VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools)

At Sonal Bhuchar Elementary, our volunteers are the heart of our school! Through the VIPS program, parents, family members, and community supporters have the opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

 

What is VIPS?

 

VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) is a district-wide program that encourages parents, guardians, and community members to volunteer their time and talents to support our schools. At SBE, our PTA coordinates a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the year to help with events, classroom activities, and school programs.

 

Why Volunteer?

 

Volunteering is a great way to:

  • Stay connected with your child’s school
  • Meet other SBE parents and teachers
  • Support important school programs and events
  • Make lasting memories with your children

JOIN A COMMITTEE! 

 

There are many ways to get involved at SBE! SBE has a variety of PTA committees that help plan and support school programs, events, and activities throughout the year. From organizing the Fall Festival and Field Day to helping with Yearbook there is a committee for everyone. No experience is necessary — just a willingness to help and be part of the Bengal community. Volunteering with a committee is a great way to meet other parents, stay connected, and make a positive impact at our school.

BECOME A ROOM PARENT

 

Each class at SBE is supported by one or more PTA Room Parents who serve as a liaison between the classroom teacher, parents, and PTA. Room Parents help coordinate classroom celebrations and assist with communication throughout the year.

 

Room Parent Responsibilities:

  • Organize classroom parties (typically 2–3 per year).
  • Help recruit and coordinate volunteers for classroom needs and school events.
  • Serve as a contact for parents with classroom-related questions.
  • Support teacher appreciation efforts with small gestures or organized activities.
  • Share PTA and school event information with classroom families.

 

Room Parents are selected at the beginning of the school year. Interested parents can sign up during Meet the Teacher or by filling out the Room Parent Interest Form online.
