Room Parent Information 🐾

Thank you for your interest in serving as an SBE Room Parent! Room Parents help support our teachers, communicate with classroom families, and make special classroom activities possible throughout the school year.

Important Dates

• August 21: Deadline for parents to sign up [click here to fill out interest form]
• August 28: Teachers confirm Room Parent assignments
• Week of August 31: Official Room Parent assignments will be sent out

Room Parent Requirements

To be considered for a Room Parent position, volunteers must:

• Be a current SBE PTA member
• Have a completed and approved background check

How Assignments Are Made

We want to give as many families as possible an opportunity to participate. When making assignments:

• When possible, each parent will be assigned to one teacher/classroom.
• Non-PTA Board members will receive priority to allow more families the opportunity to get involved.
• Assignments will generally be made on a first come, first served basis.
• Signing up does not guarantee placement with a specific teacher or classroom, but that does mean you cannot still help!
